Johnny Rotten registra un podcast per il Met Museum

Wow! Johnny Rotten dà voce alle sue sporchissime corde vocali per la causa del Met Museum di New York, nonchè per la causa del podcasting. Strano vero? Le cose stanno così: il Met Museum ha fatto una mostra dal titolo “Anglo Mania” per raccontare la moda nel regno di sua maestà fra il 1976 e 2006. E il buon vecchio cantante dei Sex Pistols ci ha messo la sua vociaccia insultante con il suo accento inconfondibile.

Fashion. What is fashion? We’ll I’ll tell you what Sex Pistol fashion is. It’s one of necessity. All these things that later became absolute prerequisites to the punk look were originally there in a haphazard, by chance way. I’ll give you an example: the safety pin. That is there by necessity. I could not sew or darn my own clothes. Lack of money meant no new ones. What does one do when one’s sleeve falls off one’s jumper? One safety pins it up. That’s what one does. And that became a punk statement.
